Lyman Briggs College Research Showcase

February 17, 2026, 6:00–8:00 p.m. | Holmes Hall East and West Lounges

Each spring LBC hosts a student research showcase. This is a great opportunity and welcoming environment for students to:

  • Share your work from your research lab, honors option or class project with fellow students
  • Learn about the other research of Briggsies, whether within LBC or elsewhere on campus
  • Build your resume
  • Potentially win a cash award

Who can participate?

You can:

  • If you have done research with a faculty member, as an honors option or as part of a class
  • If you have already prepared a poster presentation for UURAF, the Diversity Research Showcase, Mid-SURE, or other research showcases or conferences since February 2025.
  • If you have work-in progress that you want to share
  • If you wish to pre-record a research talk (5-10 minutes). Note: recorded talks must be submitted by February 3, 2026.

Independent research and honors options presentations will be eligible to win monetary prizes, sponsored by the MSU Federal Credit Union. A panel of LBC alumni and friends will evaluate presentations and select winners.

Diversity Research Showcase

When: Friday, January 23, 2026 from 1:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m.

Where: Campbell Hall and online

The 9th Annual Diversity Research Showcase, hosted by the MSU Honors College but open to all undergraduate presenters provides undergraduate students space to discuss their diversity research with peers, faculty, and staff in a supportive and constructive atmosphere. Topics span cultural, racial, ethnic, functional, gender, international, LGBTQIA2S+ and political diversity.


University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum

2025 UURAF--there are three sessions roughly the same size--with hundreds of presenters on the floor of the Breslin Center.

The largest research showcase on campus is the University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF-pronounced you-raff). The showcase provides Michigan State undergraduate students with an opportunity to showcase their scholarship and creative activity. Held each spring, UURAF brings together an intellectual community of undergraduate students to share their work with faculty, staff, peers, and external audiences.

Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences

MidSURE provides an opportunity for students involved in research and creative activities at Michigan State and other institutions to share their work with their peers and the MSU community.

The 2026 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences will be held on July 22, 2026 at the STEM Teaching & Learning Facility. Find more information on the Undergraduate Research Office website.

Spartan Wellbeing Summit

  • When: February 26, 2026, 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Kellogg Conference Center

    Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the celebration of MSU’s collective journey toward becoming a health promoting university, inspired by the Okanagan Charter. Together, we’ll plant new ideas, strengthen our shared foundation of wellbeing, and branch out in collaboration to cultivate a lasting culture of care for all Spartans.

    The Summit will feature keynote speaker Kiyaana Cox Jones, whose inspiring message on sparking community transformation will energize and empower Spartans to continue this work.

The research committee of the Healthcare Education Advocacy and Leadership (HEAL) Sexual Health Conference is sending out a call for abstracts for the poster session of our conference! This one-hour poster session will take place at the Michigan State University Union Ballroom on March 28, 2026.

The HEAL Sexual Health Conference aims to bring awareness to and encourage ​sexual health scientific research along with community engagement and ​discussion. More specifically, it highlights the work of healthcare, education, and ​advocacy leaders in our Michigan community and beyond.
