Biography

Dr. Johnson Kempinski loves chemistry because it helps her appreciate the mystery of the material world. She believes that chemistry is useful for everyone who lives in the modern world, because chemistry is all around us--both in nature and in technology. As a researcher, she is interested in how chemistry classes can help students develop disciplinary and scientific literacy. She hopes that students in her introductory chemistry classes can learn to use chemistry to understand their environments and serve their communities.
