Biography

My teaching and research explores the relationship between human cultures and nature. My research has focused on the history of the Rust Belt and examines topics such as indigenous history, bioregionalism, and environmental justice. I believe that the art of storytelling is crucial to communicating complex information and affecting social change.

Research

I am currently working on two book projects. The first is a graphic novel about the formation of the anti-racist punk scene in Dayton, Ohio and Midwest during the late 1970s. The second project is a traditional history of the Midwest.
