Adventures in Science Communication, with Sheril Kirshenbaum, Ph.D.
A Lyman Briggs College Speaker Series event
As we know, science shapes our world. For scientific innovations to reach their full potential, they need public support and engagement. Scientists must communicate clearly and compellingly to appeal to a wider and more diverse audience.
In this event, Sheril Kirshenbaum, Ph.D. will share her unique path in science communication, from marine biologist to NGO founder and author, Senate staffer, and PBS host. She will answer questions and discuss best practices to connect with different audiences, counter the rise of misinformation, promote evidence-based thinking, and inform the policy process.
Biography of the Speaker:
Dr. Sheril Kirshenbaum is an Emmy Award-winning scientist and author in the MSU Office of Research and Innovation and an assistant professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
