'99 Briggs alumna Sarah Navarro works as the Senior Manager of School Programs at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Navarro majored in Animal Behavior & Neurobiology and earned a Master's degree in Animal Behavior in 2001. She has worked in educational program development for the Zoo for nearly 20 years.
In 2017, the MSU Alumni Association featured her in a webinar, "Taking Risks and Finding Inspiration."
Navarro shares her journey to finding a career that she both loves and that makes a difference in the world. She discusses how keeping an open mind and taking risks was instrumental to her growth. She suggests, “Don’t ask kids what they want to be when the grow up, but what problems do they want to solve. This changes the conversation from, 'Who do I want to work for?', to 'What do I need to learn to do that'?”
