Briggs students take part in summer research symposium
August 4, 2020
Each summer, the Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experience (Mid-SURE) showcases research and creative activity of hundreds of undergraduate students from across the region. This year, in place of the large in-person event, a week-long digital exhibition was organized.
Students were required to submit a video presentation of less than five minutes, which was available to the public for about a week. Topics ranged from agriculture and plant sciences, to education, to psychology, to toxicology. Students would receive feedback from an evaluation panel for further professional growth.
The forty Briggsies (of a total of about 260 presenters from across the university and other regional research universities) who presented this year are listed below, along with their research titles. Several of the presenters were mentored by LBC faculty members. Find presentation abstracts in the Mid-SURE 2020 program booklet.
We are proud of our students' aptitude and involvement in undergraduate research. Not only does it exhibit their curiosity and drive, but it introduces them to the world of professional scientific presentations.
