LBC welcomes--and welcomes back--Briggsies

August 20, 2021 - LBC Communications

Once a Briggsie, Always a Briggsie

Words of welcome and advice from former LBC students

For First-Year Briggsies: College Colloquium

College Colloquium will take place on Tuesday, August 31, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Lyman Briggs College looks forward to welcoming the incoming Fall 2021 class to campus! For College Colloquium on Tuesday, August 31st, we will host small groups to facilitate community and connection as our first-year students begin their journey at MSU and in Lyman Briggs.

Incoming students can find their Colloquium Group and Location Assignments on our Colloquium event page. This information will also be sent to their MSU email address, available in the building, and provided by their Peer Support Mentor. The majority of small groups will be offered in-person and located in or around Holmes Hall. We will offer a virtual small group option using zoom for students who wish to engage remotely instead of in-person.

Before and after your small group session, advisors will be out between East Holmes and the woods to welcome you with music, snacks, and conversation.

If you want to prepare for Colloquium, think about this question: What inspires your curiosity?

More details will be posted on the event page by Friday, August 27, after 5:00 p.m.

Safety and Health Considerations

Everyone must wear a mask indoors

All faculty, staff, students, and visitors must wear masks indoors while on property owned or governed by MSU or while participating in MSU-related or MSU-sponsored activities. In effect until at least September 15, 2021.

If you have a medical condition that may prevent you from safely wearing a face covering, you should contact MSU’s Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities to begin the accommodation process.

COVID-19 Vaccines Required

All faculty, staff, and students must have received at least one dose of a FDA-authorized or WHO-approved vaccine on or before August 31, 2021, and log their vaccine(s) on the MSU Vaccine Form https://covidresponse.msu.edu/vaccine/survey.

Limited exemptions for medical reasons or religious beliefs may be requested by August 31, 2021. For more information, visit https://msu.edu/together-we-will/covid19-vaccine/exemptions.html. After August 31, all individuals seeking an exemption must enroll in the Early Detection Program.

If you have questions about MSU's COVID-19 directives, make sure to visit the FAQ page of the Together We Will website: https://msu.edu/together-we-will/faqs/
