Fall semester changes

August 18, 2020

Dear Lyman Briggs students,

A few moments ago, you would have heard from President Stanley that, in the interest of keeping our Spartan community safe and healthy, all Fall 2020 semester courses will be offered online. Your safety is always my paramount concern, and I support the President’s decision. At the same time, I recognize the disappointment that many of us may feel about not having the opportunity to come together this fall. I know our first-year students were looking forward to the residential experience in Holmes Hall and our graduating seniors to their final semester on the MSU campus.

Our faculty, advisors, and staff are all focused on the work that needs to be done in the next few weeks to support you and your success this fall. We care deeply about our students and want to provide resources for you. For any courses that were scheduled to be offered hybrid or in-person, you will hear more in the next few days.

We will share more details in the coming days. Since you might have questions now, let me share a few resources.

  • If you have questions about university housing and contracts, please contact LiveOn at liveon@msu.edu or (517) 884-5483.

    • If you or your family members have questions about COVID and the university’s response to it, please contact the MSU Together We Will hotline: (888) 353-1294.

Our community is our strength, so, if you have ideas or suggestions, I also want to hear from you. Please email me at lbc.dean@msu.edu.

You belong in our college. You are a Briggsie, whether you're in Holmes, or online.

We will get through this together,
