Briggsies showcase winning research at University Undergraduate Research & Arts Forum

May 1, 2024 - Tiffany Werner

The 26th annual University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF) took place on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Breslin Center and online, April 11-12. The hybrid event featured poster, oral, performance, film, and exhibit presentations with in-person activities at the Breslin Center and virtual activities hosted on Symposium by ForagerOne.

Over 1,000 students participated, 224 of whom were Briggsies. LBC had the most winners of any college with 36 students winning an award for their research presentation. View the UURAF 2024 photo album to see our students presenting and at the award ceremony.

UURAF provides Michigan State undergraduate students with an opportunity to showcase their scholarship and creative activity. Held each spring, the symposium brings together an intellectual community of undergraduate students to share their work with faculty, staff, peers, and external audiences

“Research is a vibrant part of the LBC student experience, so we were excited to have an amazing turnout with many winners,“ said Dr. Ryan Sweeder, the LBC associate dean of research and faculty affairs. “This event is a reflection of not only the significant curiosity, commitment and dedication of our students, but also a reflection of the mentorship of many faculty, post-docs, and graduate students from departments across the university who have enhanced the experience of our students.”

First-place presentations in each category section received a $100 prize and were eligible to submit their work to win the grand prize of $500, which will be announced in June 2024.
