The LBC Speaker Series is pleased to welcome State Representative Julie Brixie to LBC for an engaging conversation on December 2, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Rep. Brixie, now in her third term in the Michigan House of Representatives, brings a unique perspective to policymaking, grounded in her scientific expertise. With a master’s degree in crop and soil sciences specializing in environmental toxicology, and nearly two decades of experience in local government, Rep. Brixie has become a champion for policies that protect Michigan’s environment, promote equitable education opportunities, and improve infrastructure.
During this event, Rep. Brixie will discuss the challenges and opportunities of bringing a scientific lens to the legislative process, offering insights on how data and research can drive policy decisions that benefit our communities.
About the Speaker:
Julie Brixie serves as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources and is a member of both the Appropriations and Tax Policy committees. She has a strong commitment to improving Michigan's communities through thoughtful, evidence-based policymaking.
