44 graduating Briggsies receive Board of Trustees’ Award

Two hundred and seventy-one Michigan State University graduating seniors accomplished something many students dream of — a perfect college GPA.

During its April 12 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented the graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees’ Award, recognizing their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive, a 4.0 GPA.

Along with the board recognition, students also will be acknowledged during the spring commencement ceremonies and will receive $1,000 from the university for their accomplishments.

The Briggs students honored for this achievement include:

Aya D. Abu-Zama, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from Canton, Michigan.

Ellen C. Bennett, who earned a bachelor’s in genomics and molecular genetics from Lyman Briggs College and is from Portage, Michigan.

Kathryn R. Borders, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College, is a Member of the honors college from Granger, Indiana.

Melissa A. Briggs, who earned a bachelor’s in nutritional sciences from Lyman Briggs College and is from Troy, Michigan.

Sammantha K. Caywood, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the Honors College, from Benson, Arizona.

Nicholas K. Carlier, who earned a human biology degree from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from Troy, Michigan.

Prerna G. Chahal, who earned a bachelor’s in genomics and molecular genetics from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from Okemos, Michigan.

Abigail L. Connell, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from Commerce Township, Michigan.

Nithya Gogineni, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from Wixom, Michigan.

Kareena S. Gooroochurn, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College and in French from the College of Arts and Letters, is a member of the honors college from Holly, Michigan.

Ashley C. Harlock, who earned a bachelor’s in neuroscience and human biology from Lyman Briggs College and is a member of the honors college from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Sarah E. Hoogstraten, who earned a bachelor’s in neuroscience from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the honors college from East Lansing, Michigan.
