Two Briggsie seniors nominated for the Rhodes Scholarship

Michigan State University has nominated six undergraduate students and two alumni for the Rhodes Scholarship. Two Briggsies are among the nominees.

The Rhodes Scholarship supports students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The results of this highly competitive scholarship process will be determined in the coming months. 

The two Briggsies who were nominated are both LBC seniors who are members of the Honors College.

  • Caroline Downes, double majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology through Lyman Briggs College and anthropology through the College of Social Science.

  • Ashley Harlock, double majoring in neuroscience and human biology through Lyman Briggs College.

Downes and Harlock were also nominated for a scholarship to attend graduate school in the United Kingdom, the Marshall Scholarship.
