BIOGRAPHY

Since 2008, Dan has worked with Lyman Briggs College. As instructional equipment and supplies technician, he has a variety of responsibilities. These include: procurement, inventory, and maintenance of chemicals, laboratory teaching supplies and equipment for all LBC student and faculty research labs, prep rooms, and store rooms; maintaining records on operations, environmental health and safety, property-related, and employee records; supervising LBC lab attendants; managing hazardous and biohazard waste disposal, and serving as the ID security coordinator with the MSU Police.

Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry while working full time. Dan’s professional roles include: research technician, product development chemist, and research and production manager in coated abrasives. In 1991, his career shifted to Michigan’s automotive industry. From 1991 to 2008, Dan held positions in production and technical supervision and production management for automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and Tier 1 automotive supplier companies.  

Outside of work, Dan enjoys activities with his wife of 41 years, Linda, their four college-educated adult children and spouses, and their four grandchildren.  He is also a member and volunteer at his church and the Knights of Columbus.
